Project Update – New House Near Dorchester (Basket Hill)

Progress of a Contemporary Vernacular 4-bedroom house in rural Dorset

Working alongside Ecologic Ltd we at Fisher Design Studio are in the process of project managing in delivering a modern SIPs construction house which along with renewable energy technologies is immensely energy efficient.

The Basket Hill project takes inspiration from traditional Dorset architecture while integrating modern design elements that cater to contemporary living.

The house will feature four generously sized bedrooms, a blend of natural materials such as timber and stone, and open spaces that allow for ample natural light. The design aims to create a connection between the indoor and outdoor areas, with large windows and sliding doors leading to a thoughtfully crafted garden.

Sustainability is at the core of this project as well, with plans to incorporate energy-efficient heating systems, high-performance insulation and provisions for renewable energy sources.

The project team is working closely with local artisans to ensure the construction respects and enhances the rural character of the area.

Significant progress has already been made with the foundations laid, and SIPs construction complete. Updates on key developments and milestones will be provided as the project moves forward.
